Junior wide receiver MARCEL POSEY (5-10, 170) saw the most extensive action of his playing career at Idaho, starting in the slot position and finishing with three receptions for 30 yards in the 45-0 route of North Dakota in the season opener for both schools Thursday night in Moscow. The Vandals played an impressive game defensively, and were productive on offense despite 110 yards in penalties.

ISU sophomore linebacker Jake Knott likely could not have scripted his first career start any better. Knott intercepted two second-half passes to go along with nine tackles and a forced fumble, leading the defensive effort to preserve Iowa State?s 27-10 season-opening win over Northern Illinois Thursday in front of a crowd of 43,116 at Jack Trice Stadium.

Idaho had not won a season opener since 1998, but Thursday night not only won the opener but achieved the largest margin of victory in 18 years by defeating North Dakota 45-0. The Vandal defense, including AARON LAVARIAS, were especially strong with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries on the night. It was a great victory for the Vandals and GoVandals.Net was there to capture the action.
